Sandra Hohol and Julie Rushmer have celebrated their first six months of trading as Hunstanton based Norfolk Holiday Homes. The entrepreneurs have marked the milestone with an 'Open Day' where they saw a steady stream of well wishers dropping in to their Westgate office for a tea, coffee and home made cakes over 27 and 28 May 2016.
For some 12 years the duo were the faces of Birds Norfolk Holiday Homes until December 2015 when they left Birds Estate Agents to go independent. Their years of experience have held them both in good stead. Today, they independently own and operate Norfolk Holiday Homes from their ground floor office on Westgate in Hunstanton.
The Cruso & Wilkin Hunstanton office, where Sandra had worked since 1980, closed in 1989. Sandra had little idea that her decision to move on with, the now late, Richard Bird would ultimately lead her to become joint partners in a reborn version of the holiday arm of the Birds empire. Birds Holiday Homes, part of the Birds Estate Agents until December 2015, was where Sandra and Julie learned how to manage a holiday letting business. Julie had clocked up considerable previous administration experience in the industry as well as time in France operating canal boat holidays. So between them they have amassed a wealth of knowledge about self-catering holidays.
Their new prime location in Hunstanton has meant an increase in enquiries with a mix of local people and holidaymakers calling in to make bookings and ask questions. Since embarking on their new self–catering holiday enterprise, they have added several new properties to their portfolio including some unusual ones. Now the business is independently owned they can offer a choice of properties further afield, in addition to their established West Norfolk holiday home choices, and they already have self-catering holiday properties on the Broads. Suffice to say, there have been many changes over the years and many stories to be told!
Norfolk Holiday Homes boast they are the only East Anglian bespoke self–catering holiday agents who have always had all properties quality inspected by a fully trained and qualified Quality In Tourism Inspector from Visit England on an individual basis. Awards range from 3 – 5 stars (and some with Gold Awards) so guests always know they are getting quality accommodation. Their excellent range of holiday accommodation includes cottages, houses, bungalows and apartments. These are a mix of modern or character properties catering from 2 up to 12 persons and sometimes they even offer long lets too. Pets are welcome in many properties with WiFi also available in many of the holiday homes. Their service is individual, friendly and personal to guests and home owners alike as they know the area and their properties very well.
We wish them well for the future.
